Capítulo 02 - SANGUE NOS OLHOS: Arte como Código de Retomada

Após a inauguração do Pantanal Favela Studio e o primeiro ciclo da exposição Sangue nos Olhos, o projeto entrou em uma segunda fase.

O que antes era registro fotográfico de uma década de performances e memórias começou a ser transformado em matéria viva. No espaço físico do estúdio, localizado na União de Vila Nova, no extremo leste de São Paulo, a artista Rosa Luz interveio diretamente sobre as obras e sobre a própria arquitetura do lugar.

Neste gesto, o estúdio deixa de ser apenas um espaço de produção e se torna um território de disputa simbólica e material.

Se o arquivo é estático, a vivência é corrente. No Pantanal Favela Studio, a obra de arte não termina no clique: ela começa no encontro visceral com o território.

Este gesto marca o Ato II da exposição SANGUE NOS OLHOS, uma intervenção que transforma o estúdio em um território de disputa simbólica e material. O vermelho ocupa o espaço físico como rastro e como código — uma cor que transita entre trauma e vitalidade, entre memória e futuro.

Ao fundir fotografia, pintura gestual e vídeo-performance, Rosa Luz subverte a lógica da reprodutibilidade técnica. As obras deixam de existir como tiragens múltiplas e passam a existir como objetos únicos, carregando textura, relevo e intervenção física.

Cada respingo na alvenaria do estúdio é também uma resposta ao mercado de arte.

Não se trata apenas de cor, mas de uma ferradura estética que marca a posse da artista sobre sua própria narrativa.

A estética sanguínea que atravessa a vídeo-performance — exportada em “88 bits”, uma escolha estética que tensiona a linguagem digital tradicional — é uma decisão política.

No PFS, a tecnologia não serve para “limpar” a imagem da favela, mas para potencializar sua crueza. Grão, glitch e saturação tornam-se texturas de autonomia.

Se o centro tenta apagar nossas imagens através de algoritmos assépticos, respondemos com uma presença física que transborda o frame.

Esta intervenção arquitetônica não termina na imagem; ela ocupa o espaço e inaugura uma nova etapa para o Pantanal Favela Studio.

O gesto de “sangrar” as obras prepara o terreno para a construção do PFS como um quilombo cultural e hub de inteligência territorial, dedicado a mapear e amplificar artistas da quebrada.

Ao transformar registro em matéria e fotografia em objeto único, Sangue nos Olhos — Ato II redefine o valor e a materialidade das obras produzidas no estúdio.

Este gesto também prepara o terreno para o próximo movimento do PFS: a abertura do novo espaço e a realização da primeira exposição coletiva do quilombo.

Chapter 02 — Blood in my Eyes: Art as a Code of Reclamation

After the opening of Pantanal Favela Studio and the first exhibition cycle of Blood in My Eyes, the project entered a second phase.

PANTANAL FAVELA STUDIO (PFS) presents Act II of the BLOOD IN MY EYES exhibition, a visceral intervention by artist Rosa Luz performed within the studio’s physical space in União de Vila Nova, on the far east side of São Paulo.

On January 7th, the studio ceased to be merely a place of observation and became a field of aesthetic transmutation. Rosa Luz intervened on her own archive: photographic records of a decade of performances were transformed into unique photo-paintings through gestural red paint spilling from the frames onto the walls of the studio.

If archives are static, lived experience is fluid. At Pantanal Favela Studio, the artwork does not end with the photograph — it begins with a visceral encounter with territory.

By merging photography, gestural painting and video-performance, Rosa Luz disrupts the logic of technical reproducibility. What once existed as multiples now becomes singular objects carrying texture, relief and physical intervention.

The bloody aesthetic of the performance — exported in “88 bits” — is a political choice. At PFS, technology is not used to sanitize the image of the favela, but to amplify its rawness.

Grain, glitch and saturation become textures of autonomy.

If the center attempts to erase peripheral images through sterile algorithms, the response is a physical presence that overflows the frame.

Tis gesture would eventually lead to the next chapter of the studio: the opening of its first collective exhibition and the consolidation of PFS as a cultural quilombo in São Paulo’s far east side. 🔱🩸

Capítulo 01 — O nascimento do Quilombo Cultural

O Pantanal Favela Studio não nasceu apenas como um espaço físico; nasceu como um território de afirmação.

Em dezembro de 2025, inauguramos nossa primeira sede na União de Vila Nova, no extremo leste de São Paulo. Um território historicamente marginalizado pelos circuitos institucionais de arte, mas profundamente fértil em inteligência estética, cultural e política.

O PFS surge da urgência.

Urgência de presença.
Urgência de voz.
Urgência de criar infraestrutura cultural onde antes existia apenas invisibilidade.

Aqui, a arte periférica não é apenas expressão — ela é tecnologia social capaz de regenerar o futuro.

O estúdio foi fundado pelos artistas e empreendedores culturais Rosa Luz e Henrique Cardoso com uma missão clara: conectar a potência estética da quebrada com o circuito global de arte contemporânea, redefinindo o próprio conceito de centro cultural.

Se o centro tradicional da arte sempre esteve geograficamente distante, no PFS a lógica se inverte:

o centro pode nascer na periferia.

Ato I — Sangue nos Olhos

A abertura oficial do espaço aconteceu no dia 13 de dezembro de 2025 com a exposição individual Sangue nos Olhos, da artista e cofundadora Rosa Luz.

A mostra apresentou uma pesquisa intensa sobre corpo, valor, território e autovalorização da arte produzida nas periferias.

Durante esse primeiro ciclo, o Pantanal Favela Studio funcionou como laboratório.

A laje virou galeria.
O chão da casa virou ateliê.
E as experiências vividas no território tornaram-se matéria estética.

Como afirmou Rosa Luz durante a abertura:

“Nós transformamos a laje em laboratório, o chão da casa em ateliê e as nossas vivências em galeria. Sangue nos Olhos é o manifesto de que a arte que nasce nas quebradas tem potência para dialogar com o mundo sem pedir licença.”

A exposição também marcou o início de um protocolo experimental de visitação: encontros guiados para artistas, curadores, pesquisadores e jornalistas interessados em compreender o projeto a partir do território.

O nascimento de um hub de inteligência territorial

Mais do que uma galeria, o Pantanal Favela Studio nasceu como um espaço híbrido:

ateliê
centro de documentação
laboratório de pesquisa estética
plataforma de articulação cultural

Um lugar onde a arte se conecta diretamente com território, memória e tecnologia.

O primeiro ciclo do PFS preparou o terreno para a próxima fase do projeto: a criação de uma rede de artistas da região e a abertura de exposições coletivas capazes de mapear a potência criativa do extremo leste de São Paulo.

Esse movimento inaugura uma pergunta que orienta todo o projeto:

Capítulo seguinte

O segundo momento desta história acontece quando as obras da série Sangue nos Olhos deixam de ser apenas registros fotográficos e se transformam em fotopinturas únicas através de uma intervenção arquitetônica realizada dentro do estúdio.

Este gesto marca o Ato II da exposição SANGUE NOS OLHOS e redefine o valor e a materialidade das obras.

Chapter 01 — The Birth of a Cultural Quilombo

The Pantanal Favela Studio was never meant to be just a physical space; it was conceived as a territory of affirmation.

In December 2025, we inaugurated our first headquarters in União de Vila Nova, on the far east side of São Paulo. A territory historically marginalized from institutional art circuits, yet profoundly fertile in aesthetic, cultural, and political intelligence.

PFS was born out of urgency.

The urgency of presence.
The urgency of voice.
The urgency to build cultural infrastructure where invisibility once prevailed.

Here, peripheral art is not merely expression — it is a social technology capable of regenerating the future.

The studio was founded by artists and cultural entrepreneurs Rosa Luz and Henrique Cardoso with a clear mission: to connect the raw aesthetic power of the hood with the global contemporary art circuit, redefining the very idea of what a cultural center can be.

If the traditional center of art has always been geographically distant, at PFS the logic is inverted:

the center can emerge from the margins.

Act I — Blood in my Eyes

The official opening of the space took place on December 13, 2025 with the solo exhibition Blood in my Eyes, by artist and co-founder Rosa Luz.

The exhibition presented an intense investigation of body, value, territory and the self-valuation of art produced in peripheral contexts.

During this first cycle, Pantanal Favela Studio operated as a laboratory.

The rooftop became a gallery.
The house floor became a studio.
And lived experience in the territory became aesthetic material.

As Rosa Luz stated during the opening:

“We turned the rooftop into a laboratory, the house floor into a studio, and our lived experiences into a gallery. Blood in the Eyes is a manifesto that art born in the hoods has the power to dialogue with the world without asking permission.”

The exhibition also introduced an experimental visitation protocol: guided encounters for artists, curators, researchers and journalists interested in understanding the project from within the territory itself.

The birth of a territorial intelligence hub

More than a gallery, Pantanal Favela Studio was conceived as a hybrid space:

aesthetic research laboratory
cultural articulation platform

A place where art connects directly with territory, memory and technology.

The first cycle of PFS laid the groundwork for the project’s next phase: the creation of a network of artists from the region and the launch of collective exhibitions capable of mapping the creative power of São Paulo’s far east side.

This movement raises a central question that guides the entire project:

what if the future of contemporary art is being produced right now in the hoods?

The next moment in this story unfolds when the works from the series Blood in my Eyes cease to be merely photographic records and become unique photo-paintings through an architectural intervention carried out inside the studio.

This gesture marks Act II of the series and redefines the value and materiality of the works.
